Why customers trust Carpet Tek

Local specialist care

Refresh a mattress without soaking what is inside

Based in Mildura and serving homes and businesses across Sunraysia and surrounding districts.

Sheets and protectors take the first impact, but mattresses can still collect shed skin, fine dust, sweat, body oils and occasional spills through years of use. A pet accident, illness or missed leak can also leave a visible mark or odour. Because mattresses contain layered foams, fibres, springs and adhesives, effective cleaning requires restraint as well as cleaning power.

Carpet Tek checks the care label, surface textile, mattress construction and condition before treatment. We identify visible staining, ask what caused it and note any previous chemicals. Suitable mattresses receive dry particulate removal, targeted stain or odour treatment and a controlled cleaning method intended to avoid unnecessary saturation. Air movement and full drying are essential before bedding is replaced.

Mattress cleaning can improve cleanliness, freshness and many marks, but it is not medical treatment and it cannot guarantee removal of every dust mite, allergen, microbe or old stain. We give practical advice about protectors and bedding care alongside the clean, and we will say when contamination, internal mould or material deterioration makes replacement or specialist advice more appropriate.

Why professional care matters

Careful cleaning with moisture kept in check

Construction and care check

We consider foam, pillow-top, latex, spring and hybrid construction along with the manufacturer’s available care directions.

Targeted stain treatment

Sweat, spills, urine, blood and unknown marks are assessed individually because their chemistry and age affect what can safely improve.

Controlled moisture

The selected process aims to clean the suitable textile surface without needlessly saturating internal foam, padding or adhesive layers.

Drying and aftercare guidance

We explain airflow, when to remake the bed and how washable protectors and regular linen care can reduce future buildup.

What we can help with

Mattresses and related items we can assess

Material and condition determine suitability, particularly where foam, internal moisture or contamination is involved.

Standard mattress sizes

Assess suitable single, king single, double, queen and king mattresses for a professional surface clean.

Pillow-top and hybrid mattresses

Treat compatible outer textiles while accounting for the thicker comfort layers and longer drying behaviour beneath them.

Sweat and body-soil marks

Target accumulated yellowing, oils and contact soil, with old oxidation or permanent textile change clearly distinguished from removable residue.

Spills and accidents

Assess urine, blood, drink and other localised contamination promptly to determine a suitable stain and odour treatment.

Guest and rental bedding

Refresh suitable mattresses between occupants, subject to condition, care requirements and adequate drying time before reuse.

Fabric bedheads

Clean suitable upholstered bedheads as a separate item using the same fabric-testing principles applied to other upholstery.

Our approach

Our mattress cleaning process

The goal is a thorough, even surface clean while respecting the layered materials that should not remain damp.

  1. 1

    Inspect the mattress

We review the care label, outer fabric, construction, age, visible condition and the history of stains, odours and previous treatment.

  2. 2

    Remove loose particulate

Accessible dust, hair and debris are vacuumed from the surface, seams and edges before stain solutions or moisture are introduced.

  3. 3

    Test and pre-treat marks

An appropriate test is followed by focused treatment selected for the likely stain, textile and risk of colour or texture change.

  4. 4

    Clean with controlled application

The suitable surface is cleaned methodically, with moisture application and recovery managed around the mattress construction and condition.

  5. 5

    Support full drying

We perform a final check and advise on ventilation, mattress position and the point at which protectors, sheets and normal use can safely resume.

Mattress cleaning has practical limits

No cleaning process can promise to remove every dust mite or allergen, cure allergy symptoms, or reverse dye and fibre damage. Deep internal contamination, persistent mould, damaged foam or a mattress that cannot be dried thoroughly may make replacement safer and more practical. We do not treat bedbug infestations as part of a standard clean.

Questions customers ask

Mattress Cleaning FAQs

Straight answers help you plan the job properly. We will confirm the method, likely outcome and drying or return-to-use advice after inspection.

Can you remove urine, blood or sweat stains?

Many stains can be improved, particularly when they are identified and treated promptly. Age, heat, previous chemicals and penetration into foam affect the result. Some marks permanently change the mattress textile and remain visible after removable residue is cleaned.

Can every mattress be steam cleaned?

No. Heat and moisture may be unsuitable for particular memory foam, latex, adhesive or layered constructions. We check the care directions and material response first, then use an appropriate controlled method or advise that the mattress is not suitable.

How long before I can remake the bed?

Only remake and use the bed when the mattress is fully dry. Timing varies with construction, treatment, room airflow and weather. We provide a practical estimate after cleaning and may suggest fans, ventilation or repositioning to support drying.

Does mattress cleaning remove all dust mites?

No legitimate service should promise complete removal. Cleaning can remove accumulated particulate and reduce some material at the surface, but ongoing exposure control also relies on washable mite-resistant covers, regular linen washing, vacuuming and a dry, ventilated room.

Do you clean both sides of the mattress?

The quoted scope should state which faces and edges are included. Whether the reverse needs cleaning and can be accessed safely depends on the mattress, bed frame, weight, condition and the contamination you want addressed.

When should a mattress be replaced instead of cleaned?

Replacement may be more sensible where there is widespread internal mould, sewage or hazardous contamination, deteriorating foam, persistent saturation, structural failure or an inability to dry the mattress fully. We will not market a clean as the answer to every condition.
